This CD ROM is an interactive, computer-based reference on Actuarial Models and the Modeling process.
The objectives of this CD ROM are:
To introduce the important basic concepts related to actuarial models and modeling
To provide hands-on exposure to the use of models and the modeling process
To illustrate how a number of models and methods are used and how a variety of models and methods can often be useful in solving a given problem.
The general discussions on actuarial models and modeling are introductory. The short descriptive examples used to reinforce some of the ideas assume very little background. The longer, interactive examples and a case study are intended to provide practical hands-on experience to both aspiring and practicing actuaries.
It is also helpful as a supplemental reference for other actuarial models and modeling exams, such as the SOA Exam MLC, the CAS Exam 3L, the SOA Exam C and the CAS Exam 4.
