Changes to the SOA and CAS Curricula are coming in 2018. For students who are not on track to obtain an Associate credential by June 2018, new components will be required to obtain an ASA or ACAS.

Candidates seeking to earn an ASA or ACAS under the current requirements must plan carefully and adhere to strict timing and transition rules. Scroll to the bottom of this page for relevant SOA & CAS links. If you're not on track to become an ASA or ACAS by June 2018, components completed/passed prior to July 1, 2018 will still earn transition credit for new components.

**The current VEE Applied Statistics topic will end on July 1, 2018. Applied Statistics credit earned prior to July 1, 2018 can be claimed at anytime in the future, and such credit then becomes credit both the new Statistics for Risk Modeling (SRM) Exam and the new VEE Mathematical Statistics. CAS Transition Rules
The transition rules allow candidates with credit for Exam S achieved through an examination administered prior to January 1, 2018, to receive credit for MAS-I. Candidates with credit for SOA Exam C achieved through an examination administered prior to July 1, 2018, will receive credit for MAS-II. The CAS is reviewing options for waivers for candidates who pass examinations offered by other organizations that cover the learning objectives for MAS-I and II.
